About Dr. Thomas

Hello, I'm Veronica G. Thomas, Ph.D.

I’m a healthy aging behavioral scientist, educator, author, and speaker. I help adults make more informed, personalized health decisions as they age through my L-N1™ Healthy Framework.

For decades, I have studied how people learn, grow, and make decisions.

Much of my work has focused on helping people use evidence to make better decisions and improve their lives.

Over the years, one question continued to surface:

Why do so many people—with access to good health information—still struggle to know what is right for them?

That question inspired me to develop Your Body as Data™, a practical approach that helps people integrate scientific evidence, professional expertise, and what they learn from their personal experience to make more informed health decisions.

I believe healthy aging is not about finding one perfect diet, exercise plan, or wellness routine. It is about learning how your body responds over time, asking better questions, recognizing meaningful patterns, and adapting as your health, circumstances, and goals change.

My Professional Background

My career has included teaching, research, program evaluation, and leadership in higher education. I am a Professor of Human Development at Howard University and Director of Evaluation and Continuous Improvement for the Georgetown–Howard Universities Center for Clinical and Translational Science.

I am also co-author of the award-winning graduate textbook Evaluation in Today's World (SAGE, 2021) and Health Program Evaluation: Using a Culturally Responsive, Racialized, and Equity Perspective (SAGE, 2027).

Beyond My Professional Work

I enjoy cycling, walking, dancing, and connecting with people of all ages. These experiences reinforce something I have come to believe deeply: healthy aging isn't about following perfect rules. It is about remaining active, curious, engaged, and open to learning throughout life.

I hope Your Body as Data™ encourages you to approach your health with curiosity and confidence and to learn from one of your most valuable sources of information: Your own body.

Thank you for visiting.
